New co-op opens in Waterloo

The RiverLoop Public Market Co-op Grand Opening November 11 & 12

Waterloo, Iowa.  The RiverLoop Public Market is located in downtown Waterloo at 327 W. 3rd Street, next to the RiverLoop Expo. Get $25 off Co-op memberships if you and a friend both sign up as new Co-op members! Co-op memberships are not needed to purchase items at the Public Market.

Operator Rick Kiefer is proud of the Market and what it represents. “Our concept for the Market is a unique, seasonally-changing experience that gives residents and visitors alike new shopping opportunities and quality products.”  Those products include:

• Quality, custom-cut meats and fresh seafood
• Locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables
• Deli meats, cheeses, dairy and eggs
• Bulk foods
• Specialty foods such as gluten-free
• Freshly baked and artisan breads and bakery
• Café with sandwiches, soups, smoothies, coffee and free W-Fi
• Our own RiverLoop Market Fresh Frozen foods
• A changing schedule of music, cooking demos and more to come
• November’s special find: Bell & Evans turkeys—organic and raised without antibiotics.

“This is an incredible opportunity for our community and for downtown Waterloo,” says Mayor Clark, “to bring fresh, local, and healthy foods to residents and support to our local economy.”

The Market is open six days a week from 7:30 am-7:00 pm (M-F) and 7:30 am-5:00 pm (Sat), closed Sundays. Stop in for breakfast, coffee, lunch, or for new dinner ideas–there’s always something fresh.

“We want to stress the community ownership of this project,” says Kiefer. “Your Public Market Co-op needs your support to keep growing, whether you’re a member or you just like to shop there. I invite you to stop down and see what the Public Market has to offer. You won’t be disappointed.”
